The Mid-Shift Dispatcher will also be responsible for monitoring POD usage, AWF usage, as well as tracking other Transportation related metrics, i.e. speed control and on time deliveries. Duties may also include: scheduling, route planning, monitoring equipment usage, observing drivers and providing coaching and feedback, verification of driver logs, and corrections.Schedule: Monday - Friday 12:00pm to 8:00pm (end time may vary)Position Responsibilities/Essential Functions:
  • Responsible for running weekly trend reports and validating information to provide Senior Transportation Manager.
  • Interacting with drivers on a regular basis to ensure DOT compliance.
  • Conduct mock DOT roadside inspections at the end of day
  • Handle incoming calls from drivers with questions reporting issues.
  • Responsible for scanning of load lists into the appropriate CM system.
  • Effectively communicate issues and opportunities as they arise to the appropriate Manager.
  • Plan and delegate work in a safe, responsible manner and in compliance with all state laws and transportation regulations.
  • Notify Customer Service of any route changes, including time delays and non-delivered orders.
  • Driver scheduling as needed
  • Monitor driver performance and make corrections as necessary with software programs such as PeopleNet and SpeedGauge.
  • Assist with the administration of the Weekly Driver Bonus Program
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the Transportation Management Team.Position Requirements:
    • Previous Transportation experience preferred but not required.
    • Commitment to quality customer service by utilizing excellent communication skills.
    • Ability to read, write and communicate information accurately.
    • Intermediate level computer skills including the use of the MS Office Suite of products.
    • Strong attention to detail and willingness to follow all established procedures and regulations.
    • Flexibility to work extended hours as needed.Physical Demands and Working Conditions:
      • Normal office environment not subject to extremes in temperature, noise, etc
      • Ability to work with interruptions to assist Management team or Drivers person and on the telephone
      • May spend extended periods of time at the computer terminal, at desk, or on the telephone and operating other office equipment requiring eye-hand coordination and finger dexterity
      • Occasional lifting, bending, standing and carrying files, documents and records.IND-NE
