JOB SUMMARY: To work with Good Shepherd Services in assisting Elementary School students in achieving the academic scores required to advance to the next grade level by providing academic instruction and leadership activities in an after school.
LOCATION: 2280 Aqueduct Avenue, Bronx, NY 10468
HOURS: Up to 15 Hours/Week Non-Exempt; Monday through Friday (3pm-6pm)
Develop engaging credit requirement/accumulation classes that meet students needs and DOE requirements.
Implementation and facilitation of leadership activities and tutoring classes
Assist students in comprehending and completing required coursework in Math and ELA
Assist students in preparation for required exams.
Identify problem areas and implement approaches to improving competency within those areas.
Maintain documentation and inputting data as required in the form of case notes and report cards on Capricorn database system.
One-on-One meetings with students individually bi-weekly to discuss academic progress.
Collect Attendance.
Weekly supervisions with Supervisor
Function as a member of the Good Shepherd and school teams.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Must be current DOE or CHARTER SCHOOL Teacher.
Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Must have a commitment to work from a strengths-based and/or youth development perspective.
