Building on the fast trajectory of The Strategist in the past 2+ years, New York Media is seeking to grow the e-commerce team to further scale and accelerate attracting and engaging a shopping audience. The Associate Director, Audience Growth will be in charge of aggressive audience/traffic growth via various relevant marketing and promotion channels and must have demonstrated delivering strong results in their previous or current job(s). Job Responsibilities Drive audience growth and engagement for The Strategist leveraging editorial content via all relevant marketing / distribution channels including but not limited to social, email, referral, etc. Discover, analyze and implement testing of new marketing channels for growth; expand distribution by exploring emerging new platforms and channels to reach new audiences Significantly grow the number of followers on The Strategist brand on the main social platforms Manage and optimize paid social efforts including maintaining ROI goals on spend Efficiently use SEM to drive acquisition and engagement especially during key shopping occasions Drive subscriber growth for The Strategist newsletter program, including expanding partnerships, swaps, sweepstakes opportunities Lead efforts to improve brand recognition for The Strategist and establish it as a go-to resource for online shopping and discovery Analyze and continuously refine audience and engagement growth across the NYMag suite of sites for improved internal re-circulation Collaborate with internal teams (editorial, analytics, product, marketing) to identify business needs and deliver on audience goals Other responsibilities as assigned by manager Role Requirements Minimum of 4 years in an audience development role; 3-4 years of digital media experience Solid knowledge and recent experience with paid social media and SEM Understanding of ecommerce industry preferred but not a must Highly proficient with analytics tools and software (Google Analytics, Data Studio, Parse.ly, Social Flow, etc.) Strong spreadsheet (Excel / Google Sheets) and data analysis skills (responsible for regular reporting, tracking, optimizing on KPIs) Experience and strong understanding of major social media networks (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Pinterest, Snapchat) and other off-network platforms (Apple News, Flipboard, etc) Outstanding communication and problem-solving skills Experience managing a team and collaborating across multiple functions Entrepreneurial spirit and a strong sense of initiative and drive New York Media is a place where you can be yourself and make an impact.
