Minimum Qualifications A. Experience

Five (5) years of progressively responsible administrative, consultative or supervisory experience in a mental health program including one of the following:

1. One (1) year of satisfactory experience in a position

comparable to a Clinical Chief of Service (COS) or Director of

Mental Health Rehabilitation;

OR

2. Two (2) years of satisfactory experience in a position as

administrative head of a multi-disciplinary treatment team;

OR

3. Two (2) years of satisfactory supervisory, professional, or

administrative experience in the development, operation,

and/or implementation of the mental health service delivery

system for State facilities, counties, or local/private agencies

in three (3) or more of the following areas: program

development, management procedures, community

organization, resource planning, funding, program proposals,

advisory boards, consumer and community advocacy and

intergovernmental relations.

AND

B. Education

A Master's degree in a mental hygiene discipline (including physician assistant, occupational therapy, physical therapy, social work, speech pathology and audiology, communication disorders, psychology, recreation therapy, rehabilitation counseling, education, nursing), hospital administration, community mental health, business or public administration or other administrative area specifically related to health care, behavioral or social science from an accredited school; or a valid license to practice medicine in New York State or Canada. Current registration or licensure required where applicable.

Duties Description The DDPC 2 - Operations is an essential member of the facility's Executive Management Team. Under the general direction of the Executive Director and in close collaboration with the Clinical Director, the DDPC 2 - Operations designs, develops, evaluates and ensures the effective operation of the facility's outpatient and residential programs. The DDPC 2 - Operations participates in the development of the facility's short and long term goals; establishes policies and procedures to ensure efficient and effective service delivery; ensures that all services provided are consistent with the current vision of the Executive Teams in OMH Central Office and BPC; supervises, coordinates, and directs the activities of subordinate managers in outpatient and residential programs at BPC; monitors and oversees staffing, assignments, and work schedules to ensure quality patient care; ensures that service delivery complies with OMH guidelines and regulatory agency standards; and ensures the maintenance of safe environments for patient care with a focus on cultural competence, community care, and recovery. The DDPC 2 - Operations has primary responsibility for cultivating and maintaining productive relationships with OMH Central Office, the OMH New York City Field Office, and various community partners in Bronx County to maximize resources and implement program goals.

Additional Comments Bronx Psychiatric Center (BPC), a Joint Commission (TJC) accredited mental health facility located in Bronx, New York, is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Deputy Director, Psychiatric Center 2 - Operations (DDPC 2 - Operations) for outpatient services. BPC operates inpatient and outpatient programs for adults with mental illness and is affiliated with Albert Einstein College of Medicine. BPC has 156 inpatient beds in six units. BPC's outpatient programs include one (1) outpatient clinic, the White Plains Road Clinic that serves 575 patients; three (3) Community Service Programs: Health Home Management Coordination (HHMC) that serves 349 patients, an Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) team that serves 69 patients, and a Mobile Integration Team (MIT) that serves 68 patients; a Residential Village comprised of two (2) Transitional Living Residences (TLR) and one (1) Crisis Residence with 116 filled beds; and 104 filled beds in the Family Care Program. Background Investigation and Fees:

All prospective employees will be fingerprinted and undergo a complete Criminal Background Check against New York State and federal criminal history records. Candidates will also be subject to a check against the Staff Exclusion List (SEL) maintained by the Justice Center for the Protection of People with Special Needs, and the Statewide Central Register of Child Abuse and Maltreatment (SCR) maintained by the Office of Children and Family Services (OCFS). Salary: $135,179 - $170,030; Plus $3,026 Location Pay
